Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

Dinersnation has gone through about 3 different phases in its path to achieve the highest search engine optimization.  When the site was originally built, it was missing key components that disabled the individual restaurant profiles from being indexed properly.  In June of 2007, StudioAKT changed the meta data and added proper page titles for each profile allowing search engine to distinguish each individual restaurant profile from one another.  After the search engines re-indexed the website throughout the summer, it didn’t take long to see the effects.  Search Engine traffic has improved over 115% since June.

Another problem Dinersnation faced was its city and state pages.  Although each city and state page was being crawled, Google and other search engines were omitting the results because the meta data and page titles did not correspond to the content.  This is pretty much the same problem as faced with the individual restaurant profiles.   StudioAKT once again changed the data which should make a big difference in the future.

Search efficiency

Dinersnation pages have a decent placement in the search engines.  Considering we have a low bounce rate compared to other dining guides, our profiles continue to move up in the rankings.

Custom Design

Many Dinersnation users compliment the sleak and sharp look it gives.  It’s easy to navigate, but the user is not overwhelmed with too many ads and information.  This also allows the paid users to feel more comfortable that their viewers are concentrating on their business, and not some random pop up ad or google adsense overload.
